Letter From Our Founder

The Education Revolution

A Letter from ERA Founder Fred Ode

My name is Fred Ode, and I refuse to stand by as our educational system obsesses on teaching to the “test” as opposed to teaching to the test of life. We release our children into adulthood with the fantasy that they are properly prepared for life in the 21st century. It is time we stopped deluding ourselves — our educational system is broken, and we need to fix it. Consequently, I have already spent more than $3,000,000 of my own money to fund the Education Revolution. However, I am not asking for your money — only your support and voice in providing our children with the education they deserve.

Our transformation plan ensures our youth will:

  • Recognize their personal strengths and weaknesses.

  • Engage in deep self-discovery, instilling confidence, and love of self.

  • Understand and value civility and kindness to others.

  • Identify, understand and pursue the diversity of careers and life paths.

  • Learn the practical skills for navigating life as an adult.

What I envision is nothing short of a major overhaul in our education system beginning with high school, ultimately encompassing K through 12. We will transform education so that it provides for the challenges & opportunities of the 21st century — not on a clearly outdated model established in the 1890s by the Federal Government.

Despite a wealth of studies, initiatives, and voices calling for change, we've been stuck in a loop, although everything that is needed already exists. For decades, educational organizations have collaborated themselves to death, with no real action. It is time to join forces and change education in America where our children are prepared for the test of life. It is our responsibility.

In summary, our strategy is to address these three focal points:

  • Life & Career Paths

  • Understanding Others

  • Learn the practical skills for navigating life as an adult.

We have a strategy. We will not give up. The tragedy of education in America needs to end. We have the backing of some very influential people in the educational community, government, and the private sector. However, to ultimately succeed, we need your support and your voice. This is a grassroots effort, and we hope you will be a part of it — no money, just your support.

The Education Revolution Has Begun.
